DIY Mountain Photo Holder
Follow our easy 7 steps DIY guide how to make the Marble & Gold cardholders yourself.
You can order the Cardholder Set in our Online Shop ready made, if you don’t have time for a DIY session.
What do you need :
- Polymer clay in white and granit effect
- Gold spray
- Aluminium foil
- Craft knife
- Masking tape
- Protective canvas or newspaper
Step 1 : Condition the clay by kneading to get it more soft and moldable. Mix the two color by using this great technique that I found on The Felted Fox Blog.
Step 2 : Use a glass bottle or a rolling pin to flatten the ball of clay. The flattened has to be thick so it will be heavy enough to support the photographs. Cut le little mountains forms.
Step 3 : Cut the forms almost in two, so that you place de the photo.
Step 4 : Flattened the bottom by pressing the mountain onto a flat surface.
Step 5 : Bake the mountains, placed on aluminium foil, according to the manufacturer’s directions. Allow them to cool completely.
Step 6 : Decide where you want the gold part to end and protect the part that you don’t want to be sprayed of the mountain with masking.
Step 7 : Go outside or in a well ventilated place to spray the jar in gold and let dry.
